Dr. Ryan Kearney hails from the sunny shores of Panama City, Florida. As the youngest in a small family of two brothers and his mom, he quickly learned the importance of close connections and a good sense of humor. His orthodontic journey is anything but ordinary, giving him a firsthand appreciation for the power of a confident smile.
Dr. Kearney's adventure with braces began at the ripe age of nine. Over the years, he had braces not once, not twice, but three more times! He even underwent jaw surgery to address continued growth. Throughout grade school, he was bullied for his bite and smile; thankfully, his treatment successfully corrected both and restored his confidence. Now, he’s on a mission to pay it forward by providing exceptional care to each of his patients.
Dr. Kearney earned his Bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship at Florida State University (Go Noles!). Before diving into dental school, he took a year off to work as a snowboard and ski instructor and backpack through Europe. Refreshed and ready, he returned to academics, earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Afterward, he was thrilled to stay at UNC for another three years, completing their renowned Orthodontic Graduate Program—widely recognized as one of the top in the world.
Dr. Kearney is a board-certified orthodontist with his training covering the full spectrum of treatment approaches and orthodontic care: traditional braces, aligners, TADs, orthognathic jaw surgery, and cleft lip/palate treatment. During his residency, he conducted extensive research on cleft palate bone grafting and anterior open bite treatment. He also met his future wife, Auvi, who happened to be a fellow resident. Too much tooth talk for one couple, but somehow, they make it work!
When he’s not transforming smiles, Dr. Kearney is likely off on his next adventure. Whether it’s trying a new restaurant with Auvi, hiking or biking outdoors, or attempting to surf, he embraces life with enthusiasm. If you spot him floundering in the waves, give the guy a hand—he’s much better on dry land!
Dr. Kearney is honored to be part of your smile journey. His goal is simple: to help you feel confident and absolutely love your new smile!
