Meet Dr. Ankur Gandhi

Ankur Gandhi, DDS

Pediatric Dentist

Dr. Gandhi is a board-certified pediatric dentist who believes great dental care should feel calm, confident, and even a little fun.

A Southern California native, he grew up in Cerritos before heading to UC San Diego, where he earned his degree in Human Biology. He continued on to UC San Francisco to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, and it was there that he discovered what would become his professional calling — caring for children.

Drawn to the energy, honesty, and resilience of kids, Dr. Gandhi pursued advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. During his two-year residency, he trained in hospital and clinical settings, gaining comprehensive experience in everything from preventive care to complex treatment planning.

At Sunny Smiles, Dr. Gandhi is known for his calm presence, approachable style, and ability to meet children exactly where they are. He believes that trust is built one positive visit at a time. His goal is to create a space where kids feel safe, parents feel heard, and everyone leaves feeling proud of their smile.

He’s passionate about prevention, education, and partnering with families to build lifelong healthy habits. And yes — there may be a few well-timed dad jokes along the way.

Outside the office, you’ll find Dr. Gandhi exploring San Diego’s food scene with his wife, staying active with basketball, pickleball, and golf, or spending quality time with family and friends. He loves learning, traveling, and bringing fresh energy back to the community he serves.
