Dr. Sarah Rafo Benyamen is an ABO board-certified orthodontist who combines advanced training with a warm, down-to-earth approach that instantly puts children and parents at ease. A native San Diegan and one of four siblings from a close-knit, supportive family, Dr. Sarah has always known she wanted to be a leader in dentistry.

Her path reflects that dedication. She graduated from El Cajon Valley High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University before being accepted into the prestigious Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC, where she graduated at the top of her class. She continued her specialized training through an orthodontic fellowship at Roseman University of Health Sciences and completed her orthodontic residency and master’s degree at Jacksonville University.

At Sunny Smiles Kids Dentistry & Orthodontics, Dr. Sarah is passionate about making orthodontics collaborative, transparent, and joyful. She listens closely to families’ questions and concerns, partners with parents to create personalized treatment plans, and ensures every child feels supported and celebrated throughout their smile journey.

Families appreciate her gentle style, detail-oriented care, and belief that every smile deserves to shine in its own unique way.

Outside the office, Dr. Sarah enjoys motherhood, hiking San Diego’s trails, and baking treats with her family.
